We have finally had some drier weather, and Ron has been plowing, discing and planting in the main gardens. He has also spent hours weeding strawberries, and they’re ready to go, as you can see in the photo.
In the early garden, pea shoots are popping through the ground, and the arugula, radishes, romaine and salad mix are finally growing after several weeks of cold and wet weather (for the most part). The seedlings we started indoors are growing like crazy and spend hours each day in the sunshine or are outside in a cold frame—kale, tomatoes, peppers, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, onions, and flowers. It’s good to see things growing again!
This week on the farm stand we have more of the same items: lots of fresh brown eggs, local honey from Mullet Apiaries, red raspberry jam, and our grass-fed beef. We’re offering ground beef as well as other cuts. Our next delivery will be on May 19.
