After three weeks of drought, including some hot weather, we’re finally getting some rain! We’ve been irrigating the gardens, but there’s nothing like rain to make things grow.
The lettuces are loving the cooler weather and moisture. This week on the farm stand we have mini heads of romaine, both green and red, plus salad mix. We still have strawberries, and we have the first picking of red raspberries for the summer! Plus garlic scapes, arugula, kale, fresh herbs and garlic heads. And we have our own farm eggs, grass-fed beef, strawberry and red raspberry jam, and local honey.
Summer is beginning in earnest!
