High heat and little rain have marked this summer season so far. The good news is that crops are ripening earlier than usual. The bad news is that Ron had to get out the irrigation lines, which of course he did right before we had 2 inches of rain! It was so dry, however, that the gardens are still drier than usual.
This week on the farm stand we have lots of blueberries and blackberries, more new potatoes, the first green beans, broccoli, kale, garlic, zucchini and summer squash, arugula and fresh herbs. Also local honey and farm eggs, beef and jam. Trouble ordering? Text Mary 740-552-9877.
