We’ve been living the Life of Pi. Well, not exactly, but we’ve been floating along for so long we began to hallucinate desert islands. I mean, our “normal” rainfall used to be 50 inches a year, but here we are in early August (I know! I can’t believe it either!) and we’re already at 45 inches. Even though we’ve been here before, I think my soul may have molded.
However, we arrived today upon that desert island that we’ve been searching for. The fifth day without rain! And so we drank deep, so to speak. At least the tractor drank deep of the diesel as we scrambled to get all those fall beds prepared for all that planting we’ve been delaying due to weather. It felt like deliriously stumbling upon an oasis after crawling through the desert for days, except the opposite. But just as refreshing, I swear.
