We find ourselves in yet another transition period. We're planting fall things like crazy (and re-planting after the flood), and pulling out the early summer crops like zephyr and cucumbers while we move into late summer (already? really?) and the chile variety and sweet peppers explode onto the scene. Peppers take over our lives for a moment before we're back into greens season. Okra is a bit late due to the relatively cool season we've had, but appears to be kicking into gear. We should also have beans and salad mix, but we lost those in the flood. The salad mix has been replanted and will return in a few weeks, while beans on higher ground start to get ready, with the first of those coming in this week. Since our cherry tomatoes had a melt down in the rain (their structure blew down this spring, remember that? seems so long ago!), I was able to find some from our friends at Creeksong Farm.
Anyway, not all of us floated away! Enjoy your harvest!
