The intense colors of summer slowly transition into the greens of autumn. Funny to think as the leaves start to think about their intense coloring, our food switches back to green intensive. Don't worry though, we've still got a few colorful weeks. Our main season runs through September before the real transition starts to take place. This has been a strange year weather-wise, so who knows what mother nature has in store for us. This week felt like she might pack a whole summer into September after a super cool summer (relatively speaking). But this weekend's rain might bring about another cool down, which most of the humans and the green crops love, but some of the humans (who shall not be named!) and the summer crops do not. This week brings the first of the winter squash from Three Rock Farm and potatoes return from Creeksong Farm. The first tease of kale and collards peek in as harbingers of what's to come, and the "after the flood" re-planted salad (and beans) return to the mix. Enjoy your harvest!
