October is the best month. (This is universal truth, not just my opinion). The low angle of the light caresses the asters and goldenrod dancing next to each other in a purple-yellow embrace. My birthday, our wedding anniversary, AND the most fun holiday all crammed into one fantastic month. The mornings are filled with sweatshirts and winter hats that get shed for t-shirts in the mid-day, and farm life transitions into deconstruction, (which has a lot less time pressure than construction). We're down to our "skeleton" crew and slowly inching toward a semblance of hibernation. Our diets shift to soups and roasting. I hope you're enjoying your October as much as we are enjoying ours. Enjoy your harvest this week!
