Farm Happenings for July 10, 2024

Posted on July 7th, 2024 by Trent Loewen

We’re loving all the wildflowers that are blooming profusely around the farm! This last week has brought some more sun and heat (and rain!) and the garden is taking off! A few weeks ago, after the hailstorm, the garden looked pretty bleak, but it’s just amazing how the plants are recovering and taking off. Even the peppers that had all their leaves beaten off are putting out new leaves!

We are still short on produce this week, so same as last week, your box will be built with half its value and we will make up the difference later in the summer when produce is plentiful. Feel free to skip your delivery to later in summer if you’d rather get a full box. Or reply to this email and I can give you a credit for last week’s short box.

There is more selection this week though. The first salad turnips are ready, there’s also dill, kohlrabi, and bok choy. Next week - carrots!

Your box will be built automatically with only produce in it but everything else is available to swap in. Besides the produce, there is pasture-raised eggs, fresh baking (baked by my Mom), refrigerator pickles, and our homemade ranch dressing.

As always, if you have any trouble with swapping or anything else, you’re welcome to call/text or email. Trent - 306-883-8832, Lois - 306-883-9289. Also the folks at Harvie are happy to help, reach them at support@harvie.farm.

Have a great week!
