Harvesting: Ancho/Poblano Peppers, Celery, Sweet corn (not organic), Okra, Dragon Tongue Beans, Yellow Onions, Colored Peppers, mixed hot peppers, Basil, Garlic, Red Cabbage, Red Potatoes. ***Sometimes we have limited amounts of the first harvests. If you love something above and didn't get any this time, change your preferences to mark that veggie as a "5" and others as something lower. NEW: Ancho Peppers are often used for Chile Rellenos or dried they are called "poblanos." Celery is smaller than what you are used to in the grocery store but full of flavor. Dragon Tongue beans are a fresh beans that can be used in any green bean recipe. Try this RECIPE.
Farm News continued: we are expecting 5 inches from Hurricane Ida. Earlier this week we realized that our tomato harvest has DECREASED because of all the rain. Last week was the PEAK of tomato season and we expected to ride out the reminder of the tomato harvest with a good amount of tomatoes this week as well. The heavy rains cause tomatoes to split open and to deteriorate, resulting in many tomatoes in the field that are not useable. We may have a dip in what we can offer in shares for a week or two but the fall crops are doing well. After the rain stops the kids will enjoy playing in the winter springs which overflow with storm water.
