The cow on the right is OUTSIDE the fence! She walking just feet from our neighbors woods which is posted with No Trespassing signs. The short story, (which I got from Simeon when he wasn't in the mood to tell a story) is that the bull pushed through the gate, ambled over to the cows, and wouldn't go back in the fence with four guys and two vehicles herding him. He went in only when all the cows were allowed to go back to the barn yard, except for these cows who felt like talking an extra long walk under the trees.
I am drooling over these Thanksgiving recipes and am hoping I'll have time this week to make something inspired by them. This post at Bon Appetite has all these amazing recipes: Squash and Caramelized Onion Tart, Kale Salad With Pecan Vinaigrette, Crispy Smashed Potatoes With Walnut Dressing, One-Skillet Mushroom Cornbread Stuffing, Sweet Potato Loaf Cake With Dark Chocolate Ganache. What a great way to use organic produce from your winter farm share.
This Menu Planning Template is a nice way to keep track of what you receive in your winter share boxes and help you decide how to use everything. Don't forget that your next box of veggies comes 1 week after you receive this box of veggies. Use some of this produce to plan your favorite recipes and start making them ahead.
