What does a mobile chicken coop, a giant salad spinner, a covered harvest wagon, a walk-in cooler, an 8' barrel style root washer, an outhouse, and a germination chamber all have in common? All are tools and infrastructure that the farm depends on day in and day out. Each one of these pieces of equipment has improved the efficiency of our work and lightened our load. The most important common denominator, however, is the craftsman who has brought each of these projects into reality. Our dear friend Ed has been turning napkin sketches into hard working farm tools for a solid decade.
I met Ed in a kayak building workshop years ago and we've been making messes together ever since. Whether it is designing something from scratch or following detailed plans, Ed is a bit of a renaissance man. Infused in every project is a can-do spirit and an amazing diversity of skills and experience. If he hasn't done it before, Ed dives into research and is always up for taking on a new challenge. We are often reminded of how grateful we are for all he has done to make this farm better than he found it.
Where would we be without the help of Diamond E??
