This past week we tackled the garlic harvest. Typically, this is a fairly involved process which in the past, has turned into more than one session and has lasted a few days. This year we surprised ourselves and had it knocked out in a 5 hour block. Exciting! With a committed crew and a dozen years of trial and error under our belts, we were able to get in there, and get 'er done. While we pulled each head out of the ground, I was inspired by the idea of an aerial shot that would give some perspective so I called Henry and asked him to fire up the drone. He lifted off at once and circled the crew while we pulled and clipped. The results are pretty cool.
Now the garlic is curing in our nursery and will be distributed into your veggie shares starting in just a few weeks. In the meantime, tomatoes are coming on strong, new potatoes are being dug from our no till beds, and peppers are ripening to perfection for their first picking! Lots of color and flavor coming your way this week, so hold onto your hats. And as always, enjoy the harvest!
