As your farmer, one of my favorite parts of the job is arranging and photographing the food. Juxtapositions of color, shape and texture stimulate a dopamine release in my brain, so when tomato season rolls around it's all I can do to keep my glee under control. Cooking and eating the veggies is awesome, but much of the time, I am happy just to see a sunny orange tomato or a lemon yellow pepper smiling back at me from the kitchen counter. Their vibrant nature fills me with joy and leaves me craving something delicious, like garlicky pan-fried eggplant or Caprese salad.
Anyway you slice it, this food can inspire all sorts of new tricks in the kitchen. All you need is access to the produce (checkmark), a sense of curiosity, and a sturdy kitchen knife. Let the colors, textures and flavors guide you towards your happy place:-)
