Peak harvest is upon us! We've completed the garlic harvest, are making our way through the onions, just harvested the crop of spaghetti squash, and will be starting on sweet corn within the next week. (By the way, if you're wondering why it's taking so long for the sweet corn, we plant late for a late summer harvest). Watermelon harvest is starting too, so it's all hands on deck to extract all of these heavy, abundant crops from the field. You may notice that your CSA shares are extra heavy this week, and that is due to the influx of peak season crops. Hold onto your hats, cuz there's more to come!
If you have a Summer Veggie Share, your season will be wrapping up at the end of this month and we hope you've enjoyed the veggies! If you would like to extend your share to continue on through October please let us know! Either way, we've enjoyed growing for you this summer. Fall is on the horizon, but first we will savor these final weeks of warm days and nights. The melons, tomatoes and corn will enjoy them too!
