This week brought hot temperatures and lots of sunshine to the farm (thank goodness!). With these conditions the crew was able to accomplish a lot, such as transplanting in the fields, trellising tomatoes, and the daily harvest of zucchini, summer squash and cucumbers. The crew took their first field trip of the summer on Thursday afternoon to Keswick Creamery, where they helped make the first batch of cheddar cheese of the year! This cheddar should be ready in August so be sure to try some at market! The crew was excited to get their hands dirty (with cheese rather than dirt) and learn about the cheese-making process firsthand.
See you in July!
