The greenhouses are being readied, the days are growing shorter and cooler, and winter squash is being taken from the ground. Autumn is rising and the effect palpable on the farm. While the cold is a bit uncomfortable, it speaks to changing colors and evenings full of soup and cider on our horizon. Change is never easy, but it is made easier when it is cyclical as many things are on the farm. Remembering the last transition to fall and all the gifts it brought makes each return that much more peaceful.
