Greetings from the production kitchen at Farm Works, the College farms newest initiative. Our campus-based farm store opened with the start of the semester providing alternative lunch options to the campus and Carlisle communities. Daily soups and salads are made fresh and showcase ingredients raised at the college farm.
We are learning the ins and outs of running a successful retail and food operation. We are grateful for the many hands helping to ensure its success. Student employees help in all areas of our operation from food prep to sales at our store location. To help improve our business model, Farm Works has two INBM interns working on store marketing and accounting. We are excited to have this level of involvement and hope that you might swing by to see what we have to offer.
None of this would be possible without the hard work of the college farm staff! Apprentices, students, full and part-time staff members are working hard to grow crops that can be transformed into canned items and meals ready to eat. We are a small, yet mighty team and I am always impressed with how much we are able to accomplish.
