Farm Happenings for July 26/27, 2024

Posted on July 21st, 2024 by Mike Nolan

Hi Everyone,

I swear that I can see the end of this heat.  We are almost into August and that means we will soon have cool nights which are great for germinating cool crops.  I just tilled up a section behind the greenhouses where we have sprinklers and I will be seeding carrots, beets, bok choi, radishes and turnips for fall.

I will start the seeding tomorrow morning and continue with some successions through the end of August.

Water is the name of the game this year and I am using plenty to keep the vegetables growing.  It is actually easier to farm produce when it's dry because the weed pressure and disease that comes with rain and moisture makes for a lot more work.

OK, Biden just quit the race.  Donald might be president again.

I'll be up here at the farm, trying to focus. Stop by when you can, you'll feel better I promise.

Mike
