It's tomato time!
The roma/paste/plum tomatoes are at their peak this week. If you want to put any up for winter, now is the time! They are available in 5lb and 10lb bags.
Monday looks to be the last summery day for the season. Just in time too, with autumn arriving on the equinox on the 21st!
But don't worry, the garden is bursting with all kinds of lovely veg for autumn -- the 'root' department looks great with carrots, beets, turnips (3 kinds), radishes, daikon radishes, and kohlrabi. There is a range of cabbages on the way, along with broccoli and more cauliflower. Like leafy greens? We've got mustard, mizuna, komatsuma, arugula, kale, chard. Bitter greens? Radicchio, escarole, and frisse. Plus all kinds of herbs. And, I'm sure I've forgotten some!
Happy autumn!
