Happy Solstice folks!
The crops are loving these long days with the sunshine interspersed with the little rains we had over the weekend. What is always striking to me at this time of year is the lettuce. All of a sudden, it starts growing quickly and we can hardly keep up with harvesting it. But in the weeks leading up to this time, the lettuce hardly seems to be growing much at all. More varieties are starting to be ready this week including one of our personal favorites, Batavia crisp.
We are in full stride, our fifteen person team in gear and executing the season plans. This is the largest crew we've ever had!
We hope you enjoy your share! Savor those strawberries and the scapes, since these crops are sadly gone before you know it.
