Hello Farmshare Members,
Well, we finally got that rain! We had been watching the weather forecast and weren't sure if it would ever arrive, but it did at last. I think we've all located our rain gear from wherever we left it months ago, and we are ready for business as usual. Goodby dust and smoke, hello first snow in the Olympics!
Along with getting back in the swing of working in our rain bibs, we spent last week harvesting our first Brussels sprouts of the season! Brussels sprouts are a big crop for us and we grow a lot of them. They are a crop that is in the ground for a long time. We seeded them in the green house in May and then transplanted the starts to the field in June. Thats about four months from transplanting to the first harvest and I'm happy to report, they are looking good!
You may find some of these beautiful Brussels sprouts in your box this week along with potatoes, and perhaps bok choy and cauliflower. We'll also have some acorn squash available this week.
Reminder we are down to the last couple farmshare deliveries of the season!
For Wednesday and Thursday delivery, your last box of the season will be the week of November 7th.
For Monday delivery, your last box of the season will be on Monday November 14th
Enjoy!
