Thank you for letting us take a week off last week after the hailstorm damage. It allowed us to get some things finished that we wouldn't have been able to otherwise. We really appreciated all the kind texts and emails from everyone. Thanks for being there for us.
It is amazing how forgiving creation can be. I raked the shattered leaves off the damaged crops and many of them are growing back from the center. Plus we have more lettuce transplants ready to go into the field this week. It is humbling to work with living things. Especially when we are committed to building soil health and growing without chemicals. There are some times that you do your best and plants just don't produce like you expect. Other times you neglect them and they still give you a harvest. My role as an orchestrator of living things in my garden is important, but I really play such a small part. A part I feel honored to play. Thanks for the essential role you play as a supporter of our farm. The land that you allow us to tend expresses its gratitude through the produce you enjoy at your table.
