Hey Everyone!
We hope you have been having a wonderful year so far. Today our little boy Edwin Gianavel turned 3 years old! Time really flies and we are trying to soak up every minute. Thanks for your support that allows us to spend more time with our kids!
It has been nice and warm lately, but last night we had a light frost that nipped things a bit. Thankfully the pepper and eggplant seedlings in the greenhouse didn't get damaged!
Today I had planned on going to pick up a load of compost for the gardens but instead spent the day working on the trailer I needed to haul it with! I have to learn to be flexible. I found a local source of composted leaves from the City of Sylacauga, and hope they will prove to be a valuable addition to the organic fertility of the gardens, and the nutrient density of the food we grow!
We have been working hard getting crops in the ground. It always seems like we are waiting, waiting, waiting . . . and then all of a sudden we are behind! Lately we have been putting in broccoli, collards, kale, beets, swiss chard, endive, and more! We are as eager as you are for a fresh round of veggies! However, we have sure been enjoying having salad as a main staple of our diet.
Let us know if you have any feedback or questions. We plan to host a farm dinner and April and hope to see you there!
Your Farmers,
Noah and Dorothy
