One of my favorite parts about the arrival of fall, is the return of the desire to turn on the oven. I love chopping up a ton of veggies, tossing them in oil, and letting the oven do the rest this time of year. In shares this week, we've got lots of great roasting veggies available-- turnips, beets, potatoes, fennel, and tomatoes (these are likely the last in boxes this season-- it's about to get chilly and fall crops are elbowing their way into the hoophouses). We've also got garlic, rosemary and sage so you can add in a little flavor to your medley.
If you need a cozy, easy dinner this time of year, try throwing some veg in the oven to roast, and meanwhile saute up a green, fry an egg, and throw them all in a bowl. Splash a little of your favorite dressing or sauce on top if you're feeling fancy. No need to overcomplicate things here.
In addition to the veggies, we've once again got a handful of strawberry pints available for swapping (if it freezes tomorrow night these may be the last of the season!) and a few more saucing tomato flats available (these are likely to be seconds, or slightly imperfect tomatoes).
We hope you have a great week and enjoy some good food!
