Not only are we excited for September for our upcoming Dip Night this Friday, but we are LOVING some cooler weather. Farmers have coined the term SLOGUST for a reason, we're always worn out from the constant planting and harvesting and sweating by late August. But really all it takes is some noticeably shortening daylight hours and cool mornings to shift our mood. We've had a really great season on the farm this year-- despite a lot of climactic challenges, things have grown really well, and we are so grateful, now for a little break so we can enjoy the food! Now is the time to celebrate the summer veggies while we have them, and start getting excited for cool nights and cozy fall food.
Our peppers are going bananas this year, so the pepper parade in boxes continues- this week, some gorgeous poblanos and cayenne chilis, get ready to spice it up! We also planted SO MANY strawberries this year, and they are coming your way in force. We'll have plenty of these sweet treats until we get a hard frost. Our green beans have also reached their peak, and we're tediously picking four plantings at once for one more week, so we're sending them your way again before they dwindle, along with more juicy cherry tomatoes and crisp cucumbers.
Eat it up!
