We've got a beautiful early fall box for you this week, as the season begins to shift. I was busy harvesting honey and preserving food all weekend, so I'll keep this email short and sweet.
We are fighting to keep up with our ripening sweet peppers right now. It's a beautiful problem to have, and the season is so short. I can't imagine anyone could be sick of them yet, so we're putting even more in boxes this week. To me these are the pinnacle of crops that need to be consumed in vast quantities (and roasted and preserved for later) so I don't miss them later. They're that good.
If you're up for it, I recommend putting your effort towards a romesco sauce this week. Because it is the best thing ever on all the things. Even if you just roast the peppers this week and make the sauce later, you won't be sorry. Our favorite recipe is posted here on our blog.
In other news, we've got the first german butterball potatoes this week, which we have many, many more of. They are our classic favorite, but they're best now when they're new and creamy, so we hope you enjoy them. We also have the first sprinkle of fall broccoli, with cauliflower to come soon as well.
We also have 5lb Bags of Anaheim Peppers available to add on if you need a spicy roasting project this week. I make roasting peppers my job in the fall, because I think they are the best flavor giving frozen food around. If you like them now and want some for later, this is the time!
