Well that cool down just threw a wrench in my late summer harvest plans, didn't it. We're slated to warm back up this coming week, but that won't help us until the following week. So some crops (like eggplant) are getting a week's vacation to grow out some of the tiny fruits they managed to set this week. We should be back to normal the following week. But we're only a couple of weeks the reappearance of fall crops like kale! The sweet Italian peppers are still kicking (the field peppers have just started and we might be seeing some red and yellow bells in a couple of weeks). Our cherry tomatoes gave up last week, but Creeksong Farm's are still producing, so Creeksong is pinch hitting this week in the cherry tomato department. Basil is on it's way out (it doesn't love September).
Enjoy your harvest!
