I'm happy to report that it seems like the crops are bouncing back better than I thought they would after the Derecho! We did lose most of our newly direct seeded crops (greens, turnips, beets, etc.) but we will replant them. The peppers looked like they suffered the worst as most plants were broken at the base of the stem. But the tomatoes seemed to hold on pretty well.
We have begun starting to repair the high tunnels and hope to at least get one of them planted into Fall Crops. With the lumber shortage we've had to use wood from our North high tunnel to repair the South high tunnel. This is not ideal but I was planning on taking the plastic off (before Nature did it for us) over the Winter to give the soil a chance to get snowed on since it's been covered for 5+ years.
