The snow yesterday really made it seem like the right sign to show that the Fall Share has begun! Many of you were also part of the Regular Season share so you know that the weather hasn't really cooperated with our plans this season. The snow yesterday is just another example of that.
The Fall Share is not going to contain all the things we planned to include but we think it will still be a good share. For example, the Winter Squash did not store nearly as well as in past seasons, thinking because of excess moisture, so there won't be any Winter Squash in the Shares. We are thinking of buying some in but it is an extra cost to us since we already paid all the expense (seed, labor, etc.) to plant and harvest them. But, we have been planning for this and are going to have additional greens and such from one of our High Tunnels (see photo) that look phenomenal!
