We've still been getting a lot of rain at the farm, but the crew this year is stellar and we are making head way. The Spring Crops were not nearly as bountiful as planned due to weather, but the summer crops on black plastic are loving the heat! While walking the fields last week we got really excited to see all the summer squash starting to come on, watermelons flowering and no weeds within the rows because of the plastic mulch.
We've got another on farm meeting with the NRCS on Wednesday as there is quite a bit of erosion happening to the North of the Farm. During this meeting we are going to discuss a plan of action including going in front of the Granger City Council. We'll keep you updated as things progress!
