Good News - Must Read

Last week we sent a very long detailed message about 0.01 ppm of three different products that had drifted onto one of our properties, resulting in a revoking of the Organic Certification on a portion of our crops. After reading through the National Organic Program’s rules and contacting the EPA, our certifier realized that they had erroneously understood the rules regarding the very small amount of residue and officially reversed their decision.

So, to be clear, all of our products are listed as Certified Organic again!  I know, it's confusing, but in order to retain integrity in the Organic supply chain there has to be tolerances set for unavoidable contamination by non-approved substances.  We are still doing all that we can within our power to both mitigatie the affect as well as prevent future contamination of these agricultural toxins (pesticides). On the bright side, at least we know that there is no detectable residue of 169 chemicals tested on our crops at that property. We are committed to organic regenerative agriculture.

In other news-
We are excited for summer as we start to get into some of our late spring brassicas and start to get the first of our tomatoes out of the greenhouse. This year we are utilizing a technique called sap analysis where we send off plant samples to a lab and find what exactly is missing nutritionally in the plant. What an eye-opening exercise!! We have identified multiple minerals which require further amending which results in healthier plants and more nutrient dense foods for us. Now that's a win win!!

P.S. Please remember to return your boxes so we can keep our packaging costs down a bit and reuse them!
