With my faithful companion Cindy, I took a break from steaming greenhouses to plant kale and chard. They will be ready to harvest by November, and for a few weeks, before we get a real freeze outside, we’ll be harvesting both from the field and from the houses.
You will see fall produce in your boxes more and more, and the dwindling of summer fruits like tomatoes. The tomato patches are in fast decline, but the pepper plants will actually keep producing until we get a freeze.
Enjoy the bounty!
