Welcome to the 2023 CSA season! Your first box is coming this week (yay!), and we're happy to report that it will be loaded with lots of early season greens like salad mix, mini romaine, kale and arugula. The lack of rain and hot conditions have been challenging for us as growers, but nevertheless, we are pushing ahead thanks to our dedicated crew and a pretty decent irrigation system. We are fortunate to have good help and access to clean water!
Whether you are a new or returning CSA member, we welcome and encourage you to set your vegetable preferences if you haven't already done so. This will help the Harvie algorithm 'build' your box based on your preferences and what's available. Once you receive this email, you will have until 7 am on Tuesday morning to customize your share (make swaps or add extras). Please be aware that our selection will be the most limited in the first few weeks of the season, but as the weeks pass the variety of crops will grow. We have many crops on deck in the coming weeks, like golden beets, new potatoes, snap peas and cherry tomatoes. Quantities will sometimes be limited when a crop first becomes available, so if you don't get to try something new the first week it's on the list, there will be more coming down the pipe soon!
