Real Organic

Your farmers breathed a sigh of relief not too long ago after we passed (with flying colors!) our annual inspection to maintain our USDA Organic Certification.  We have been committed to organic practices on the farm since day one and have been certified for over a decade.  Over the last several years, however, the organic standards have started to loosen as more corporate farms have influenced the rule-making process in their favor.  The most notable change is that the US is now one of the only countries in the world that allows food grown in hydroponic solutions to be certified organic.  We are firm believers that soil is not just where food grows, but the foundation of health and wellbeing for both plants and people.  In response, we joined a growing movement of small, organic farms that are holding themselves to a higher standard.  We’re proud to be certified by the Real Organic Project and share their commitment to growing food in living soil, raising animals on pasture, and fair labor practices.  Thanks for supporting a Real Organic Farm, we hope you can taste the difference!
