Let's Talk About Veg

Talking about vegetables is something I do nearly every day of the week.  Between chatting with members at the pick up, sharing ideas with the crew while we're harvesting, and swapping recipes with customers at the market, there is no shortage of conversation when it comes to vegetables and cooking.  Summer is such an amazing time to explore new directions in food since there is so much to choose from, and getting inspiration from other people opens the door to new possibilities in the kitchen.  Just the other day I asked a member named Nathan what he was planning to make with the eggplant he got in his share.  He excitedly told me about a YouTuber who inspired him and his wife to make a pasta dish that tastes just like eggplant parmesan.  He sent me the link here, I watched it, and was like, YES, I have to make this!  I picked up a few extra bonus cooking tips in the process and was entertained to boot.  I love being inspired - especially when it ends in a tasty meal.  And since I'm cooking pretty much every day, expanding my repertoire is the ticket to keeping the weekly line-up fresh and interesting.  

Whether or not you're getting eggplant in your share this week, the sky's the limit on the number of combinations you can create with what's coming.  Creamy new potatoes, sumptuous tomatoes, crunchy sweet onions...there is so much to choose from!  So talk with your friends and get some ideas rolling.  Maybe you'll stumble upon a new crowd pleaser that will make summer mealtime extra special and extra delicious.  Enjoy!!
