Hey all,
It's hard to believe we are already at the last regular CSA delivery! I hope you have enjoyed the fresh, organic, local produce grown by Dickinson Students and Apprentices. We are grateful for the opportunity to feed yall. For those continuing on for the next six weeks, we are excited to keep up the harvests! (Pictured: my Friday happy (truly) hour dragging the seeder through field A as the sun sets.)
Last Friday was a big push for us to get more fields put to bed for the winter before this past weekends rain. This included the last tomato and pepper rows. Only a few fields remain with the last of the outdoor veggies (carrots, lettuce mix, spinach, radishes). We will "flip" those into cover crops in the next two weeks and focus almost all of our fresh harvesting in the greenhouses.
We are tight on lettuce mix and spinach right now. Depending on how things grow over the next few days, I may add them back to the menu. But otherwise, we have lots of beautiful baby red russian kale. Our crop plan didn't call for it but we had the seed laying around. I always had great success with it as a solo grower so I tried it out. It's tender and delicious. It can be eaten fresh or cooked.
Enjoy!
