Farm Happenings for June 11, 2024

Posted on June 7th, 2024 by Alex Smith

Hello all,

With warm weather, scattered rain storms, and fireflies it feels like summer here on the farm. We have been planting non stop all week - tomatoes, sweet potatoes, the first peppers, and a huge wave of summer lettuces. We also seeded the first fall brassicas (things like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage). Those will get planted in about 5 weeks and start to yield in late September.

We have also pushed to spruce up the farm this week in advance of alumni weekend. Things are looking sharp.

Please note the sweet potato offering this week. As we work through our inventory, we have larger tubers available. It didn't make sense to me to send along one large, one-pound sweet potato. I upped the unit to three pound bags. They are still the same great sweet potatoes at even more of a discount.

Enjoy the veggies!
