Happy Monday to all those who celebrate!
The crew and I are pre-hydrated and ready for more hot days. Things start to get pretty busy for us in July. On the agenda for this week: garlic harvest 2024, final cultivation of several crops (including sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, winter squash), more planting, and flipping some fields from finished cash crop to cover crop.
Speaking of cover crop: check out Crew Leader Kelsey in some sorghum sudangrass cover crop. This field will get planted with strawberries later this summer for spring of 2025. In the meantime, this cover crop is building the soil and providing great habitat for a bunch of important organisms to the farm ecology.
Have a great week!
