Growing organically in the south is full of many challenges. Inclement weather with hail, wind and tornadoes, moisture overload, humidity, hot, hot extreme temperatures and the many insects that love this environment! The hornworm is one of those insects and they have arrived! If you're not paying attention your plants with be down to sticks, so we will be scouting for them daily and hand removing! Although our love for growing out weights the challenges it does start to wear on you, especially when we get to June and July when the temperatures soar. Some bright spots during the heat wave is blueberries and figs! Lucky for us Ms. Josie from Shady Grove Road Blueberry Patch called and they will be harvesting next week!
