View from the Tractor
Well, it seems like we are finally transitioning into a more typical Colorado weather pattern after enduring hail and heavy rain. The prospect of sunny, dry days with a chance of afternoon storms is a welcomed change. This weather shift should help us tend to our soaked fields and get our fall production back on track. I'm eager for the farming season to return to its more familiar and positive ways, resembling years past, rather than the series of disasters and trauma we've experienced this year.
On a positive note, our summer production of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, melons, squash, and even cantaloupes is looking quite promising. In the upcoming weeks, I'm hopeful that we'll begin harvesting okra, shishitos and purple bell peppers. Just recently, we completed the task of hanging and curing all our garlic. It won't be long before you see the 2023 garlic crop gracing your shares.
Your patience throughout these challenges is truly appreciated. We've been and continue to work diligently to overcome the obstacles this season has presented.
With heartfelt appreciation, The Farmers at Kilt Farm

Fruit Share
So while we have been really wet, the Western Slope has been very dry with wild fires starting to burn. The cool spring and then the summer heat has slowed down the fruit coming available for us. It does look like we will have more variety coming. Until then, this week we will have 5# of Red Haven Peaches.
We will have these peaches available in the add on section for those that do not have a fruit share.
Thank you so much for being a member of the farm. We can't do it with out you.
