We are into full summer with our veggies. Tomatoes are soaking up the sun to grow ripe and juicy. Greens are a minor part of shares now because many are bolting from the heat so we are seeding new batches to get ready for fall crops. We enjoyed strawberries in June, blueberries in July, and now we are looking forward to melons sometime in August.
When you pick up your share please make sure you have all of your cold items. Meat, cheese, and milk will be in the cooler bag labeled with your name. We regularly have to throw away a block of cheese that has been sitting in the cooler bag all week because it went unclaimed and wasn't noticed by the site coordinator. If you have anything in the cooler, you should have a separate pick list for cold items on the side of your box.
Reminder: Be sure to check the green bar (that the blue arrow is pointing to) on your share customization page to make sure that you are using all of your budget to fill your share. We have seen some shares that are smaller than expected because items have been removed instead of being swapped for something else.
