We are at Week 16 of the current season, which marks 2/3 through the current season. We're working on getting our Winter/Spring CSA season ready for sign-ups, so look for that in the next week or two.
This week's features:
- Sweet Corn from Detweiler Farm continues. Be sure to customize your share to choose the quantity of corn because they are listed as each ear. So if you have four people in your family, you could choose 4 or 6 corn in your box.
- Hakurei Turnips are back from Glacial Till Farm
- Mixed Beets are back from Humble Bee and Tree Farm
- Harmony Grove Farm is offering several different greens this week, including Spinach
- Butternut Squash from Detweiler Farm makes its first appearance
- King Trumpet Mushrooms are finally here from Full Moon Mushrooms. Mushroom Shares this week are Lions Mane.
- Shiitake Mushrooms from Raber Farm are available as extras
- This is probably the final week for Cantaloupe. We only have a few, so I left most of them out of the share build to give more people the chance to add them to your shares.
A reminder of the remaining schedule changes in the coming weeks: Shares will be finalized and you will receive your pickup reminder email on Monday instead of Tuesday the next two weeks. I will be off work on those Tuesdays.
“Good farmers, who take seriously their duties as stewards of Creation and of their land's inheritors, contribute to the welfare of society in more ways than society usually acknowledges, or even knows. These farmers produce valuable goods, of course; but they also conserve soil, they conserve water, they conserve wildlife, they conserve open space, they conserve scenery.” ― Bringing it to the Table: On Farming and Food
Have a great week, and thank your farmers for your food.
