This week's features
Mushrooms are back! Due to gas prices, Full Moon Mushrooms is planning on every-other-week deliveries for the foreseeable future. So if you love mushrooms, order for two weeks.
Lettuce! Even more varieites to choose from, including Romaine from Glacial Till Farm, heirloom Black-Seeded Simpson from Harmony Grove Farm, and a frilly cut lettuce from Spur Hollow Farm. Are you getting creative with your salads?
Mimi's Backwoods Bakery features scones this week. Choose from Blueberry with Lemon Glaze or Maple Walnut...or grab a couple of each!
Pickup Times
If you were a CSA member in the winter and spring, please note that pickup times change once the summer season begins. You can see your pickup times and address on your dashboard in your Harvie account. We did have a little bump in the road in Week 2 with our new driver learning the ropes, so he ran a little late to some of our locations. If you were waiting for him at the published pickup time, we apologize. There are a lot of details to pay attention to with our deliveries, so bear with us as Jason learns his way around.
Farm News
Moose Farm is taking their first batch of broilers to the processor this week. These chickens have been on pasture for several weeks, with their portable pen moved to a new spot every day. Besides non-GMO feed, the birds get to scratch the dirt and eat grass and bugs, making for mouthwatering meat.
Who needs a gym membership when you have kids helping you farm? At Glacial Till Farm, Derek gets help keeping in shape while harvesting.
Check out the beautiful view of the garden beds at Spur Hollow Farm's new location. This pic features beets, collard greens, and lettuce in varying shades of green and red.
Coming soon!
- olive oil
- nut butters
- salsa and hot peppers
- and more!
Remember to customize your share early and then again Sunday evening. I know a lot changes in my week's plans between Friday morning and Sunday night, so I usually tweak my order before share customization ends.
Have a great weekend, and enjoy the cooler weather for a couple of days.
On behalf of your NWPA Growers farmers,
Amy Philson
