When farmers see each other, one of the first things they often ask is, "How much rain did you get on ___day?" Last week there was a huge difference in rainfall. Slippery Rock had flash flooding and declared a state of emergency, we received 2.5" at my family's farm, but another farmer got less than .4" so he still had to water some of his veggies. Thankfully, our Slippery Rock farmers didn't have much damage to their crops.

Farmer News
Glacial Till Farm: These beds are filled with buckwheat, which we use as a cover crop to enrich the soil. The buckwheat will be tilled into the soil when we prep the beds for planting garlic this fall.
Full Moon Mushrooms: Lots of mushrooms coming over the next few weeks and so on... and glad to have our kings and ivory beech back! Chestnuts coming soon! Full Moon Mushrooms currently delivers every other week to NWPA Growers.
Enjoy this week's bountiful harvest!
