We hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and you had the chance to get together with family and friends to give thanks for the beautiful world in which we live.
Some of our farmers are on vacation for the week, so our veggie offerings are a little sparse. Our lettuce mixes didn't make it through the freezing temps, and our greenhouse-grown lettuce is slow growing right now. But that's why we offer lots of other options to fill your box!
This week's features
- Mushrooms and mushroom jerky from Full Moon Mushrooms
- Hummus from Beelzebub Salsa
- Mickley Farm has both large eggs and pullet eggs available. When young chickens just begin to lay eggs, their eggs are smaller in size. They weigh about 75% of the large eggs, so just add an extra egg if you're baking with them.
- The holidays are coming, so consider products from your farmers for gifts. The Way Nature Intended has a few gift baskets, and maple syrup and honey also make great gifts. Think about gift exchanges, teacher gifts, and hostess gifts.
Pickup info
If you're new to NWPA Growers or are unfamiliar with our pickup locations and practices, please ask me. Grove City and Slippery Rock locations move back to our winter pickup inside. Your pickup location and its address is at the bottom of emails that you receive this week.
