This week marks the arrival of autumn -- the equinox is on the 22nd and marks the day when day and night are of equal length.
Which means that from then on, the days are shorter than the nights. And the sun is far less strong that it was back in June.
The last of the tomatoes are ripening, the peppers are in full swing and the cauliflower...wow! It is just amazing. Giant heads (the biggest are more than 2.5 lbs!) and lots of them. Despite months of drought. Plants and soil are just amazing!
We are tidying and prepping beds for next season. The days are quieter and calmer. Welcome autumn!
