We finished all the planting last week! We might do some more seeding this week, but that's it for planting for this season. Wow! What a relief!
With this week, we are also into the second half of the season's deliveries. The crops (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, winter squash, onions and more) are looking fantastic for autumn!
There are lots of other things to get to in the garden these days besides planting...weeding fall crops, harvesting the onions and curing them in the greenhouse, harvesting seeds (flowers, onions and more), and more.
Beans are back this week! We do 4 plantings each season. So far, only the first has been ready to harvest. We were about a week late planting the second and the cooler and cloudier days have delayed them further. All three sets of beans in the field will appreciate the warmer and sunnier days, along with warmer nights forecast for this week. So will the tomatoes!
And, while cucumbers were an utter failure on my field this year, fortunately Oskar's cucumbers are starting to produce and looking great. So there will be cucumbers this week too. Thank you Oskar! I'll be forwarding payments to him. Time for a Greek salad??
