Week 12 -- Full Season Farmshare-- River Run Farm

Posted on September 19th, 2024 by Anna Bunk

Hello Farmshare!

Another week into September and the days are really shortening now! Also, the quality of the light is ... delicious this time of year. These past couple sunny afternoons on the farm (as the sea-fog rolls back out to the Strait of Juan de Fuca after sufficient sun burn-off) have been just gorgeous!

I've got another Crew Profile for you this week! Morgan has been a great addition to the farm crew this year. She and I, having lived in Wisconsin for 9 years, have a lot of Midwest banter to catch up on each time we work together.  Here's her profile:

1. Name : "Morgan Stelpflug".

2 .Where are you from? How did that place shape you?  "I’m from Wisconsin. It shaped me into an avid dairy lover. I will never live without cheese and milk!"

3 .What was your first impression of Sequim? "Lots of retirement communities. Kinda like the Florida of the PNW. I live in Port Angeles so that is probably the biggest difference between the 2 towns."

4.What drew you to farming? "Working outdoors with my hands in the dirt! I love local food systems and community access to fresh, organic veggies is so important. I feel blessed to be apart of the River Run Team!"

5.Favorite vegetable crop at River Run? "Carrots! I eat 1 everyday!"

7.Favorite number? And why? "7! It’s the perfect number."

8.Do you have a super power? What is it? "I can spend hours in the kitchen and never run out of things to do or get bored."

9.Please share a life lesson learned.  "Stay flexible and don't overthink it. A positive mindset is key in any situation."

That's it for now! Customize ahoy!
