Fellow Veggie Fanatics!
We've reached October, friends! I'm stunned to say it but we've been having such nice sunny warm days to finish September that I'd *almost* forgotten summer has ended. Except for the chilly mornings and the increasingly short days, of course!
Root crops continue to roll in from the fields. Our carrot harvests are coming in strong, as well as beets and potatoes. Fennel made it's entrance into the Farmshare this past week. Anyone else love roasted fennel as much as I do?!
This week I'd like to send a reminder out about returning our Farmshare boxes, when at all possible! When we have these custom boxes printed/made for us, its a very large expense and there's a month or two lead time required. Since we are so close to the end of the season we'd like to strech out the stock we have to finish the season (Nov. 20th).
But we can only do that with your help! If we can get our box return rate to above 50% I think we will be good. So many thanks to you for returning boxes at your pickup sites each week and especially the ones that you can tell are new can be returned and used another 2-3 times ideally!
Photo to draw your attention is of Ankur Delight, our very good friend and mentor here in Sequim (also a Farmshare member!) with his boxes ready to return. Like he did just after the photo, break them down carefully, without tearing the cardboard and return!
Have a great week everyone!
