Fall arrived right on schedule this year, with temperatures dropping suddenly, just as we reached the fall equinox. While we would have enjoyed a few more weeks of extended summer weather, we've adapted quickly.
On the harvest crew we've broken out our insulated pants, scarves, and hats, and started the continuous flow of hot beverages to keep our hands and bodies warm. But despite the rain and cold, the harvest is bountiful, and we have so much to offer for these final four weeks of Fall CSA Shares.
We're especially excited about our broccoli this week. This is a particularly challenging crop for us to grow, but recent conditions have been good and we finally have a successful crop! Some crowns are the size of Danielle's head!
We also want to shine a spotlight on our kohlrabi, dandelion, and fennel this week. These are some unique vegetables that are really in their prime right now, at the peak of nutrition and beauty. We hope you'll give them a try!
